NOOOOO!!!!!!! Not the Steak Corral!! Another one of my childhood memories has gone out of business. First it was Alphy's, now this!!! Oh yeah, and the coffee shop in the Baldwin Park bowling alley. Though most of the food was below par, it didn't matter to me as a child. As I recall, in the late 70's, early 80's the canvas covering the wagon had writing ALL over it. It was kinda cool. The last time I went there, in the late 90's, the canvas was clean with a sign forbidding any writing on the canvas. RIP Steak Corral.

RIP Steak Corral. 3-31-08 I went by and it is closed. A sign says Norm's is coming. Yes it was tacky, cheap steaks, but I loved it for what is was.

steak in a corral? what could be better than that?? my friend has brought me here a couple of times. it is decorated as the wild west, but from a 1970's point of view. there is a little condiment stand for baked potatoes. the cheese toast is pretty good. the steak is decent, ive had better, but never in such a lively western atmosphere. its pretty inexpensive as well.

BEWARE THIS PLACE IS NO MORE!!! IT WILL BECOME A NORMS. Go figure. Yes yes, the decor, music and the buffet style salad bar is as cheesy as the cheese bread. BUT. You have to admit, the food is good and definatly worth the price. I usually get the small cut steak, medium (never trust medium rare cause you'll get a live cow). Salad with Blue cheese (actually yummy blue cheese!!) Baked potato with all the fixin's from the fixin's bar. The AU' JUS is really good on the steak. Come on who doesnt like cheap meat??
